ARTIST'S STATEMENT In working with the soft and forgiving
fibers of wool and silk in the elusive form of feltmaking, I have
found a medium in which I can express my deep reverence for the
Divine. My daily practice involves wandering and meditating
amidst the woods and meadows that surround my studio in
Vermont. It is from this communion with the natural world that
I reconnect with my source, Mother Nature - her texture, her color,
her scent. The moss-covered rocks, the fallen leaves, the wild
rose, the light in autumn, the winter sky, - all of these work their
way into my art. This beautiful, ever-changing cloth of Mother
Nature becomes the clothing I create and share. I am not the
creator. It is she.
Wool is alive
with the energy of the animals that give it. It is this life
that inspires me.
